Great write up, as always. After the first two episodes, I had a conversation with a friend about whether Jod was a Padawan who survived Order 66 or if he was just Force sensitive and taught himself some skills. I floated the idea he could have been a con artist like Kumail Nanjiani's character in Obi-Wan. It seems pretty clear Jod had at least some kind of Jedi training.

I also liked that they didn't magically give Wim Force powers. I really thought when Wim picked up the lightsaber that he was going to somehow know how to use it. It would have been a cool moment, but I think it was better for the story how it turned out.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the read.

With Wim, I think this is a great example of how taking your time can give you more room to develop a character later on. If we stick with this series and/or with Wim, he may still turn out to be trainable or able to wield a lightsaber. Him bumbling here doesn't necessarily rule that out. But if they had gone straight to he can use one, there are fewer places for his story to go.

And what you're describing with Jod shows that they handled the mystery and toying with the audience really well. The fake-out (oh he may have actually been a Jedi) for the fake-out (he never said he was a Jedi, right?) really got me!
