I just want to say: Aubrey plaza innocent. I feel like she matches the correct amount of energy that this movie deserved. I found her immensely entertaining. I also thought Shia (ugh) and Kathryn Hunter to be good in their roles. Also, Jon Voight was pretty good too but also ugh. It pains me to say that Giancarlo Esposito was fine.

Man to me the thesis is overwhelmingly “why can’t we all just get along”. It’s such an unserious and naive mission statement. All of this movie was. Coppola has a lot of Kanye energy (and so did Shia in this movie) without the trump support. Both have made masterpieces but have so fully bought into their genius to the point where they will make stuff that is before their time instead of their previous works which were ahead of their time.

I want to say, I’m jealous of Antonio’s comparison of this movie with the play in Sing sing. A fantastic comp imo that I wish I thought of
