I do think the war movie thing is more pronounced in this one due to the premise, but I do think that if this is the context that birthed Godzilla to begin with and the American versions are completely devoid of that allegorical connection (not sure if that's the right term -- someone correct me if you have a better one!), that might be a problem, especially culturally?
I didn't remember Shin Godzilla was a thing that I had meant to see but never got around to until P.T. said it on the episode. Consider it added to my queue!

1. Loved jens comparison between this Godzilla movie and war movies. Never really thought of monster movies like that or maybe it’s more this one.
2. Was waiting for someone to mention Shin Godzilla. It’s a good movie albeit not as great as Minus One. Worth watching imo.
3. Loved Greg’s rant about corporations especially in the context of Minus One vs Godzilla V Kong.
