oh man, did i love this episode.

I loved this movie, I loved Kieran, I loved Jesse, I loved when this movie was subtle. I loved when this movie was loud. I love how efficient this movie was. There is so many dichotomies inside of this movie at play with each other and it was so cool to watch play out.

I think it was Greg who mentioned Nietcsche which is probably a more proper reading than me trying to somehow shoehorn the Ego and the Id into this. But I'm at a beginner's level of psychology. That was a dope dissertation there.

Jen brought up that Jesse has been on the trail to promote this movie and he has.....but you know who else has surprisingly done a bunch of festival Q&As and media interviews about the movie? Emma Stone. She was at my Q&A at NYFF and I've seen a couple of videos of her talking about A Real Pain. Can i just say something about Eisenberg? He was totally charming during the NYFF Q&A. When he said what influenced him to write the movie as is, he said that he saw an ad that said "Auschwitz Tour.............WITH LUNCH" and he was flabbergasted.

I'm also very pro didi but that movie isn't getting any sort of push at all. Which is a shame because if it were up to me, Joan Chen would be nominated over a lot of favorites who have more backing than she does.

I still think Best Supporting Actor is a 3-4 person race. Culkin at the lead at the moment but with room for Pearce and Maclin to make a move with Denzel as a dark horse (that man is so charming on the campaign circuit). It doesn't matter who the fifth person is because they don't have a chance to win it at all imo. I kinda want it to be Adam Pearson from A Different Man but there are no legs with his campaign.

Also, I view myself as more of a benji than a David on the spectrum of personality types here.
